Construction log

So, I've never done anything in HTML or CSS before in my life, let alone a web page. So making this site really look cool will be complicated, but the idea of learning how to do it excites me a lot.

Anyway, in order to not just have an empty page for the moment I thought I could use this space to make a “Construction Log” of the site. A place to write down what I want to do with the site, my inspirations, references and stuff ( ̄▽ ̄).

So, I'm free from college homework and finally have time to dedicate to this little piece of internet haha ᕙ(`▿´)ᕗ

I've been investigating how to make it possible to have the page in Spanish and English and incredibly the easiest option is to literally create a copy of the pages but in the other language, so (leaving aside how tedious that is) that part is already half solved.

On the other hand a colleague mentioned to me that it would be easier to edit the code of the web page in VS Code instead of in the neocities editor itself and he was right, if things go well I hope to have the damn index by the end of the week. Anyway let's hope it goes well.

Good luck if you are reading this, bye (👍≖‿‿≖)👍

Ok, so after watching a lot of YT videos about it, disassociating on several cool web pages and trying some tutorials, I finally have a more or less clear idea of how I want this to look like haha (´。• ω •。`)

    This is a reference image:

It's ultimately an ugly drawing done in a hurry, but hey, it looks good, it's relatively easy to do (I hope) and I feel it would be perfect to be the HUB of the page.

    From top to bottom:

    1. The page would have a header image of a “train station in space” (or something like that). I'd have to get around to doing that.
    2. Then it would be divided in 3 columns, the left one where there will be information about me, news or updates and the panel to change the language (I still need to see how to do that). In the center will be the main column giving the welcome and with the navigation menu at the top. And finally on the right are the funny stuff ( ' ω ` )

  1. So what do I need to make a website look really cool?

  2. Definitely get inspired and take references from the other Neocities, Nekoweb or similar websites, so that I have a more or less structured idea of what I can do.

  3. lso my priority would be to see if I can make the site natively translatable into two languages (Eng, Spa). I know that you can use extensions or similar things to do it. But having it native to the site and being able to have more control when translating jokes or gags in a better way would give it a very nice touch.

  4. I also made a small modification to the 404 error code to make it look like a windows error window or something like that, it's simple but it looks better than the default version.\(≧▽≦)/

  5. Definitely have to change that eye-destroying blue color.
